Tittel

Menarke, menstruasjon og anemi blant tenåringsjenter i palestinske flyktningleire

Populærvitenskapelig sammendrag

This research aims to understand adolescent girls’ reproductive health needs, especially those related to menarche, menstruation and anemia. These girls are living in in Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank of Palestine and Jordan, and are the fourth generation of the Palestinian refugees who are still living within camps. Through a household survey, we aim to understand the distribution and magnitude of these reproductive health needs, and provide an understanding for the associated factors within their broader socio-ecological context. The ultimate goal for this research is provide baseline information that can help in designing effective interventions geared towards supporting and improving adolescent girls’ health and promoting their healthy transition from childhood to adulthood.
