Approximately 14% of children and adolescents in Norway are overweight or obese. The World Health Organization points out that overweight and obesity are one of the biggest health challenges of our time because it has crucial influence on chronic conditions like coronary heart disease, diabetes and musculoskeletal disorders. Treatment of young people with obesity is necessary to prevent future illness. There are effective interventions available, however, it is well documented that many gain weight after treatment. We will identify and summarize studies where children and adolescents (< 18 years old) who have participated in a program for reduction of weight, afterwards participate in a program to stabilize the new weight.
