The proportion of people with overweight and obesity is increasing in Norway. At the same time, there is a push both nationally and globally to reduce overweight and obesity in the population. The Norwegian Directorate of Health plans to increase the availability of non-surgical treatment such as lifestyle interventions in the health services to adults with overweight or obesity. Life style interventions may involve different ways to change behavior in relation to diet and or physical activity, simultaneous use of weight-reducing drugs are relevant. In this scoping review, we will identify and categorize studies about lifestyle interventions that has a duration of one year or longer, and that involves adults with a BMI ≥25. This scoping review will form the basis for the planning of a guideline revision. This report will also be useful for other targeted interventions within health promotion and public health.
