RAVEN

Vitenskapelig sammendrag

In RAVEN dynamical models of offshore wind turbines and their support structures are analyzed with the goal of improving our understanding of critical modeling issues, correct use of simulation software, and the possibility of optimizing designs. Differences between sequential and fully-coupled time-domain analyses are studied, especially with respect to fatigue. Validation of models in the IEA Annex 30 Offshore Code Comparison Continuation effort and with measurement data from the Alpha Ventus test field are important tasks. Implementing efficient simulation strategies on a GPU-accelerated system is another goal.

Utstyr

One HP Z800 workstation with Xeon quadcore processor and a Nvidia Tesla C2050 GPGPU with 448 processing cores.
