Tittel

How improvisation can enhance the practice of a young dancer. Level 1

Sammendrag

dybwikdans invited 7 young dancers to participate in this workshop, level 1 during fall 2010. The workshops aimed to encourage the dancers to explore and develop their creative movement potential through in-depth improvisatory research. Individually and as part of an ensemble, an interdisciplinary approach to embodiment evolved as a response to tasks both in the studio and on site. In dialogue with themselves and others, improvised movement languages were continually devised and reflected upon. Ungdybwikdans is an ongoing project which aims to promote responsible practice. dybwikdans invited Lisa Kendall to take part in the project and lead the workshops based on her ongoing professional portfolio. This project is part of current artistic research undertaken by Siri Dybwik, concerning choice and decision making in improvisation. The project is made possible by support from UiS, Rogaland fylkeskommune and Stavanger kommune.
