Goniometric spectral imaging measurement system

Vitenskapelig sammendrag

By innovatively combining a hyperspectral imaging system, on an optical bench with rotation stages, with an
adequately calibrated flexible illumination system and a reference tele-spectroradometer, we aim to establish a unique
goniometric spectral imaging measurement system. Setting up and validating this system is the primary short term
goal of this project. Subsequent research using this system along with other research methods such as psychovisual
experiments, in conjunction with the FRIPRO Toppforsk MUVApp project, will enable the secondary goal of achieving
novel understanding of the complex field of material appearance. This will all contribute significantly to the long term
goal of the Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory: strengthening our position as one of the world's
leading research groups in colour imaging, by specifically focusing on spectral appearance imaging.
