IOR Challenges at the Norwegian Continental Shelf

We present future Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) challenges from a Norwegian perspective. The National IOR Centre of Norway and the research centre DrillWell focuses on maximizing recovery from the Norwegian Continental Shelf. There are large remaining resources in mature fields and the centres work to develop technology and solutions to maximize resource utilization while minimizing environmental impact. Improved reservoir understanding and management are key challenges.In Norway there is a unified strategy for R&D within petroleum and close collaboration between industry, authorities and academia.
