Sammendrag
Reflection in teacher education - an example The concepts of critical reflection and professional understanding in teacher education requires that we as teacher educators evaluate and develop our own teaching practice. The purpose of the project is to explore the research question: How can we contribute to the development of reflection amongst students in teacher education? The project is an action research project based in primary teacher education in Norway executed in connection to the subject cultural diversity in schools. The students watched selected movie clips from the movie The Class. The students then discussed and reflected upon the scenes, from the different perspectives of the teacher, the students and the group/class. They reflected both individually and in groups upon different. We asked the students to write a log with their reflections about working with the methods and the theme cultural diversity in this way. The findings suggests that the student’s perspectives on learning is crucial for their perception of their learning outcomes. The students approach to learning did not comply with our expectations of the students levels of reflections. Our further reflections deals with how we can develop our awareness to reflection as a form of knowledge in teacher education, and how we can integrate this in our courses.
