Sammendrag
In safety demonstration of critical systems and software a limited set of analysis methods are considered traditional and best practice. One such method is the HAZard and Operability analysis (HAZOP). This paper presents results from a systematic literature review on the impact of human and organizational factors in the safety analysis process, as well as the results from interviews with experts, aiming to identify and describe the factors influencing the performance of the HAZOP method. However, no research quantitatively addresses the impact of either individual or multiple factors on the analysis result. The review emphasized the lack of systematic data collection, or at least a gap in data driven assessment of human factors. To further explore factors that may impact on the quality of safety analyses, we performed interviews with analysis experts. Although the relevant factors impacting the quality and result of HAZOP seem to be agreed upon, the importance and ranking of the factors is not known. The description of our current efforts to create a framework to observe, document and analyse the impact of human factor in heuristic analysis methods is given as a conclusion.
