Sammendrag
All Against AIDS (PLS) started in September 2002, and is coordinated by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cameroon (EELC). The project is mainly financed by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). From 2003 the Norwegian Missionary Society (NMS) have been responsible for the project and the Centre for Intercultural Communication (SIK) ensure the monitoring. The overall goal for the project is to stabilise and reduce the level of HIV infection in the areas covered by EELC. This is to be done by using EELC?s entire church structure to inform and sensitise about the nature of HIV/AIDS, how to prevent oneself from being infected and how to associate with and care for people who are infected. Upon request by Norad, SIK has in cooperation with the project coordinators in Cameroon, evaluated the first phase of PLS (2002 - 2005). This report presents the conclusions and recommendations that result from the evaluation that took place in April 2006. The goal was to evaluate the different aspects and activities in light of the overall goals. In short, the evaluation team concludes that the first phase of PLS has made important contributions to the knowledge about HIV/AIDS among different people in society.
