Lisa Marie Brunner is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Architecture and Planning at the Norwegian University of Science and University (NTNU). She holds a degree in Geography and Urban Development and has several years of working experience in European research projects with focus on sustainable transport modes, integrated and resilient planning and urban design strategies for improving the attractiveness of cities. She has worked in interdisciplinary research environments between the fields of urban planning, transport, health and social sciences. At this interface, her interest lays in the links between the urban environment and its impact on people, and their health and well-being. Her doctoral project aims to research how pedestrians experience the built urban environment while walking, with focus on time perception and emotions. The research aims to build a bridge between the disciplines of architecture and urban planning with human-focused disciplines of psychology and neuroscience.
