Sammendrag
I am a scholar of 19th- and 20th-century American literature and culture with specific focus on the period of late 19th/early 20th-centuries. I specialize in realist and naturalist literature, women's and gender studies, and critical theory, and have worked extensively on such authors as Edith Wharton and Mary E. Wilkins Freeman. I am currently working on an interdisciplinary project that examines the connections between archaeology and literature in 19th- and 20th-century American literature.
I joined Nord University as an Associate Professor of English and American Literature in August 2023 after teaching in the US and Turkey for several years. Originally from Greece, I received my BA in English and Greek Literature from the University of Athens (2003) and my MA in Politics and International Relations from the University of Warwick in the UK (2006). I then moved to the US to earn an MA and PhD in Comparative Literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo (2012). I taught as an Instructor of English and Rhetoric at the University of Illinois at Springfield (2012-13); an Assistant and Associate Professor of English at Valdosta State University (2013-18); and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Western Languages and Literatures at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul (2018-23).
