Prof. Tore Dybå is Chief Scientist at SINTEF Digital. He received his doctoral degree in computer and information science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His research has been extensively published in major software engineering conferences and journals including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Software, Information and Software Technology, Empirical Software Engineering and Software Process: Improvement and Practice. He is the principal author of the book Process Improvement in Practice: A Handbook for IT Companies and co-author of Agile Software Development: Current Research and Future Directions, both published by Springer. Prof. Dybå was keynote speaker at SBQS 2010 and EASE 2011. He is a member of the editorial boards of Evidence Based Information Systems journal (EBIS) and Journal of Information and Software Technology (IST), and the review board of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE).
His research interests are related to organizational and socio-technical aspects of software development and how software development can be improved. He is particularly concerned with providing rigorous research results on topics of importance to the software industry, including:

* Research methods and theory
* Agile and global software development
* Teamwork in software development
