A group exhibition in Rotterdam, at an arts organisation called A Tale of A Tub, curated by Sam Steverlynck. The show was called Austerlitz, in refererence to W.G. Sebald´s novel of the same title. I presented a new dual slide / sound installation for the show, which developed from my Dead Time project.
The aim for the research project Dead Time (working time) is to produce a new photographic print series, which will tap into and generate new discourses on media archeology and conservation studies. In nearly all my works there is a fragile longevity implicit: live performance, site-sensitive constellations, photo-chemical projections and aquatic installations. I intend to further explore these ongoing preoccupations with a renewed focus on the relationship between analogue-digital photography, artist labour, and the craft and obsolescenceof darkroom printing practices.
