Being outside the labour force has individual as well as societal costs. The current letter of intent regarding a more inclusive working life (‘IA-avtalen’) aims to reduce the number of people in Norway who are outside the labour force and who have sickness absence.
The Directorate of labour and welfare commissioned the Norwegian Institute of Public Health to map the research on measures to reduce the rate of long-term and/or frequent sickness absence, and hence the rate of people who are outside the labour force. The purpose was to get an overview of the research in the field and to identify knowledge gaps.
We will conduct systematic literature searches in electronic databases. Pairs of reviewers willindependently screen titles, abstracts and full text reports to assess whether they meet our inclusion criteria. We will code the included studies in the digital tool EPPI-Reviewer in accordance with a predefined framework. We will also assess the included studies’ risk of bias. We will present the results in a report and as an interactive web-based evidence and gap map.
