Academic summary

The photogravure process is one of the most complex techniques within intaglio printmaking. This research consists of the development of a new approach to execute large size 4 color & Black & White photogravures based on collected information & defined by process oriented research in reference to history and contemporary aspects It will also address the misconception of what the media is and how it is defined, the use of the media within a contemporary art context, the theoretical discussion of photography analogue/digital versus the removal and retrieval of the photographic image & the placement of the photogravure process and its technical/historical presence as a tool for contemporary mnemonic reenactment of a process.
