The aim with these trial Master Classes is to emphasize/ bring forward/ implement and discuss the situation of printmaking & drawing today, from its tradition, the theoretical aspects, the historical, the technical analogue and digital approach, together with the tradition of craft within the media and what is and can happen, globally and in the future. A focused examination of the expanded field, within the medias.
The Master Classes will throughout a specific 3 year time period (2018 – 21) move between the different Institutions. The choice of action of each Master Class will be determined by each of the Institutions head of print department in collaboration with its faculty and with the focus of the particular Institutions speciality. The time frame for each Master Class is 5 days.
The Master classes would range from the use of traditional methods in printmaking and drawing, to the contemporary art scene and context, museums and galleries to the facilities of each Institution, the use of technologies and the focus on materiality. The emphasize of professional craftsmen, writers, prominent artists, theorists, curators, and museum representatives will be a part of this.
