Vitenskapelig sammendrag
The workshop has the explicit aim to initiate comparative analysis of how climate variability and change affectsspatial and temporal match-mismatch relationships in sub-Arctic marine ecosystems. The work will be done inseveral projects, and we aim at eventually publishing at least two cooperative publications. The workshop will focus on marine fish populations, both because of their value as important economic resourcesand because of their roles as key organisms in the ecosystems. Cushing developed his match-mismatchhypothesis on fish/plankton relationships and there exist long time-series on fish and plankton that allow us to re-investigate this relationship. However, also fish-fish predation as well as seabirds and marine mammals may beincluded. The workshop will be a big step forward in merging and coordinating knowledge and we hope it will create a common ground for exchanging knowledge on ecosystem effects of climate change. The workshop and the output may also be an important contribution to future research directions.
