The main task of the project is to affirm and activate the holistic paradigm of
Sámi knowledge to reveal the richness of Sámi languages, worldviews, teaching
and experiences. The aim of this project is to improve research activity,
which is building and grounding a high competence in the main fields of Sámi
University College and promotes Sámi education both in theoretically and
practice. In this project we are developing new analyses and methodologies
from our own Sámi culture and for our own needs. Metaphorically this writing
and research project can be described as a learning path, which includes many
stops: from preparing a research plan to a ready article in the Sámi Research
Journal.Tasks:1)To create a theoretically and methodologically based paradigm
to Sámi pedagogy and practices in the field of education and research.2)To
research how the Indigenous Sámi ways of knowing and experiences are
manifested, practiced and reflected in education and upbringing at Sámi
University College.3)To learn to write research based academic texts in Sámi
language.4)To publish research based academic articles in the Sámi die˜ala‹
áige„ála (The Sámi Research Journal)5)To present the studies at international
and Sámi journals, conferences, and public meetings.
