Sammendrag
On-land power systems contain a larger
number of units than off-shore or isolated systems. Also,
the variation in demand for on-land power systems is
less than that of isolated systems. The unit commitment problem is, basically, a global optimization problem that aims to schedule the optimal number of generation units required and their output Power Levels to meet the demand. In this lecture, a mixed-integer formulation of the unit commitment problem for isolated systems is presented, to simplify the global optimization problem.
