Transient Performance and Emission Prediction of Diesel Engine System Using Pseudo Bond Graph Model

Sammendrag

A mathematical model of turbocharged diesel engine system to predict the performance and concerned emission will have great value in the application for development and verification of the new technology. In this paper, pseudo bond graph approach is used for the modeling framework of the engine system. This method enables the model to be intuitively built and interpreted by others. Also overall model is built on the component libraries so that each component model can be reused for other purposes. 0-D two-zone model is developed in couple with the bond graph model to predict the local temperature and the composition of the burned zone for better predictability of NOx formation. Finally, the prediction from the model is compared with the real measurement from the laboratory engine to validate the model.
