The Mobility of Antimony (Sb) in different Wastes and Waste Handling Facilities in Norway

Increased use of antimony (Sb) in plastics and other products has resulted in an increased and often uncontrolled release of Sb compounds into the environment. Waste handling facilities can be a substantial source of Sb emissions to their surrounding environment, though such data is scarce. In the EU the supply of antimony is considered to be of critical importance, due to its economic importance and to its relatively high supply risk related to flame retardant and micro capacitors. It is important to understand how much antimony ends up in these types of waste handling facilities, and their environmental emissions.
