EIF and deposition calculations for exploration drilling at the Geitfjellet Field (PL321). Final report

An exploration drilling is planned on the Geitfjellet field (PL 321) in the Norwegian Sea. The present report shows the results from calculation of the potential environmental risks (and the associated Environmental Impact Factor (EIF) values) for the water column and the sediment caused by the planned drilling operations. Exposure calculations for some selected coral locations are carried out as well. The report considers EIF’s for two different scenarios for management options. These options comprise discharges from a single well only and from a dual-branch well. All calculations are carried out with the DREAM model version 4.0 operated by SINTEF
