Sammendrag

Metyl aminolaevulinate photodynamic therapy (MAL-PDT) is approved for topical treatment of actinic keratosis, Bowens' disease and basal cell carcinoma and has worldwide recent years gained growing use. This treatment method is particularly suitable for treating multiple lesions, fiels cancerisation and lesions in areas where a good prognostic outcome is of importance. MAL-PDT is a multi-step modality and careful routines promote favourable results. The MAL-PDT practical giudeline have been prepared by the Norwegian photodynamic therapy group and are based on long and extensive clinical experience and literature search. The guideline give practical advise for carrying out the different treatment steps and are presented in an easy-to-follow structure under nine chapter headings. Many of the recomandations can also be applied to aminolaevulinic acid photodynamic therapy.
