Sammendrag
In this presentation the focus is on the cooperation between schools and minority - language parents. By using the perspective of communication theories concerning the significance of relationship for dia-logue and interaction, and the strong emphasis within client - centered theories on having a funda-mental attitude of acceptance when counseling parents, the article will discuss concrete examples of the challenges educational staff face in the contact with a very diverse parent group. Thus, the arti-cle will bring some new ideas and reflexions on what should be brought to the forefront and em-phasized when it comes to the development of competence in general, and to the field of practice in particular, regarding the cooperative relationship - regulated by law - between schools and parents, a relationship that is very important for the motivation, well-being and academic performance of pu-pils.
