Utilization of innovations by integrating them into companies’ managerial process

Most companies look at innovations as an activity to improve competitiveness. First we define the innovation concept and here we use the Oslo Manual. Then we give a theoretical discussion about how companies have managed to integrate innovating activities into the company's managerial process. After discussing several studies we end up with a list of eight indicators that seem important for the company to use innovations as a strategy to improve competitiveness. Then we use these indicators to analyze innovation processes in two companies in the food processing sector.
