Sammendrag
Abstract:
- The body changes all the same time, as do thoughts and opinions. We decide ourselves what we want to do with our body and which choices we want to make in life, some choices might be easier, other harder. The cells of the body die, and new ones develop during a life span. But we are still that same person. I am me, and I am the only person I can be.
These are the words by a 14-year old boy in a writing task entitled “Me, my body and death” in the research and development project 200 billion and 1. The RnD project was carried out with young people aged 13 and 14 at two secondary schools in Trondheim, Norway, by teacher educators, teachers and artists. The aim was to develop teaching approaches that would enhance deep and transdisciplinary learning processes.
The theme for the project 200 billion and 1 was the biological body, death, decay and new biological life. The aim was to design inquiry based teaching and learning around this theme from the perspectives of several school subjects in Norway: biology; religion, philosophy and ethics, and the arts.
In this pecha kucha we present our preliminary analysis about the potentials for deep learning through the transdisciplinary approach in the project. We point to success factors as well as challenges.
