Childhood Studies - the next 25 years

This seminar serves as an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of the journal to childhood studies and, more broadly, foster critical and forward-looking perspectives on the advancement of the fi eld. The theme of the seminar is ‘Childhood studies – the next 25 years’. Its point of departure is the four ‘conversation articles’ that are being published in the four 2018 Childhood anniversary issues. These are ‘Past, present and futures of childhood studies’ (Conversation 1); ‘Crossdisciplinary conversation in childhood studies’ (Conversation 2); ‘‘Global/local’ research on children and childhood in a ‘global society’’ (Conversation 3); and ‘Emerging scholars of childhood studies’ (Conversation 4).
