Seeing like an editor of an academic journal (NJSTS)

Many of us dread feedback from academic journals, and journal rejection letters have become a notorious part of academic culture and discourse, to the degree that memes on the topic flourish. Why exactly, was your article rejected? What strategies can you mobilize to increase chances of journal acceptance? In this mini seminar, we seek to open the black box of journal publications. We are visited by Antti Silvast who is a post-doctoral research associate at Durham University, and the editor of Science and Technology Studies. Antti will give us a backstage perspective on how journal editors think, what they look for and what they actually do when they receive a manuscript. The event will also feature a presentation by Roger Søraa, who edits Nordic Journal of STS.
