Sexual assault referral centers in Nordic countries

We have performed a survey among the Nordic Sexual assault centers (SACs), including answers from Reykjavik (Iceland), Helsinki (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), as well as from 9 Danish and 20 Norwegian SACS. The survey maps the differences in organization, resources and personnel available, as well as the work load and number of cases attending, and the follow up service offered. We will present the preliminary results from this mapping. The main purpose of this mapping is to develop a closer cooperation and relationship between these Nordic SACS which seems to share some common basic fundamental treatment principals, but at the same time is totally different organized, based on tradition and local medical culture. A future common research project regarding treatment and follow-up service strategies would be ideal in this setting. We would like to repeat, improve and maybe expand this survey before the next ICSoR
