Structural response in large twin hull vessels exposed to severe wet deck slamming

This paper is concerned with the effect of slamming loads against the wet deck of large twin hull vessels with zero forward speed. A numer ical mode for time domain calculations of slamming loads, and the cor responding structural response, is presented. An experimental investi gation has been carried out as well, and measured results are compare d with results found by the numerical model. Generally, satisfactory agreement is found between calculated and measured results.
