CUBE3 - Computational Understanding of Biocatalytic Evolution to Extreme Environments

Sammendrag

Computational Understanding of Biocatalytic Evolution to Extreme Environments CUBE3 is a 5-year project (2018 – 2023) funded through FRIPRO Toppforsk (The Research Council of Norway). The project is carried out at the Tromsø node of the Hylleraas Cente for Quantum Molecular Sciences, a Centre of Excellence established for the 10-year period 2017-2027. We use computational approaches to study evolutionary principles behind adaptation to extreme environments with emphasis on how temperature affects the stability and activity of enzymes. The primary objective of CUBE3 is to understand the principles responsible for the universal enthalpy-entropy changes involved in temperature adaptation of biocatalysts.
