A Qualitative Approach to Classroom Activities

Sammendrag

Researchers conducting a qualitative study aim to understand activities studied in their natural context. By using a naturalistic approach they also manage to give a holistic picture of the studied activities in progress. During the research activity the researchers subjectivity is present throughout the whole process. In my opinion there is always a close connection between your theoretical stance, the question asked, the method chosen and the way the data material is collected, analyzed and interpreted. Some verification procedures make it possible for the researcher to make the result presented in a trustworthy narrative. Member-checking, thick description and triangulation are three procedures often used. In the article a qualitative research process is described from start and through to completion.
