A Web-documentary about science and scientists

The UN Ocean Decade highlighted the importance of better understanding ocean environments, for the future sustainable development. The CAGE22-1 AKMA2/Ocean Senses research expedition, answer to this request by gathering geoscientists from different areas of interest and cultural backgrounds, to develop multidisciplinary research outlets which can involve a wide part of the scientific community. The video reportage of both the on field scientific research and the formation activities, which has taken place during the Expedition in May 2022, is the core of the web-documentary that we are producing. In order to cover all the scientific areas that the AKMA program involves, such as microbiology, paleontology, sedimentology and geology (and many others), the documentary will be composed of several different short videos, which can take the audience to comprehend the interconnections between the different disciplines. The final goal is the raising of consciousness about the precarious condition of natural environments and the importance of actively participate in the paradigm shift that the current situation requires. This web-documentary aims to strengthen the bound that young people have with the comprehension of ocean environments, arctic marine sciences, and greenhouse gas phenomena, by giving them the unusual perspective of a geologists, or a paleontologist or a microbiologist, because we are well aware of the challenges that the future generations will have to face dealing with climate change adaptation.
