Sammendrag

This memo documents work on spatial Benders applied to the Fansi market model conducted in the RAKETT project. The spatial Benders decomposition technique has promising theoretical properties. We describe the theoretical foundation, elaborate on a small-scale test system, before applying the decomposition technique to a scenario problem defined from a dataset representing the Northern-European system. Based on the achieved results, it seems difficult to justify the application of this technique to the Fansi market model. We observed variable accuracy in computed water values and limited potential for decreased computation time
