Happy New Year from Perù

We start the New Year by sharing pictures sent by Ines Barrenechea Angeles, an AKMA researcher, from her month-long trip to Peru 🇵🇪 in December. 👩🏻‍🔬 She led various AKMA activities in a school located in Jangas ( Huaraz region), a small village at an altitude of 2800m. The school brings together students from different part of the Huaylas Valley who, for various reasons, can only attend school 3 times a week. Some of them have to walk several hours to reach the school. Our Ines did a small presentation about the Arctic and foraminifera, so the students discovered these new subjects 🐚🌊 They enjoyed to do the planktonic foram as a sea-surface thermometer and sculpting foram activities.
