Deep sea critters thrive in so many harsh environments - the AKMA team found hundreds of animals living their best lives in the sediments at a natural oil seep! First picture- The purple wiggles are nematodes, a type of tiny worm less than a millimeter long 💜 Second picture- Sediments that we found these worms living in are completely full of oil. This oil is naturally seeping up to the surface, and some life utilises it for energy.
