AKMA 3 - Logbook - Day 12

The Akma 3 expedition has come to the end. We left with a lot of questions to answer and now, we’re back with even bigger questions. We are on land but our thirst of knowledge is still in the middle of the Barents Sea. It was a successfull expedition. Our scientists and students on board did an incredible team effort. The ROV did 19 dive, we deployed and recovered 59 push cores, 15 blade cores, 4 multicores ,4 gravity cores , 400 biological samples for @oceancensus Ocean Census and 8 gas samples from seven different site. We did 2 drone survey for oil, 2 seismic test-line and we conducted 1400 km Multibeam survey. What’s more? Yeah, we discovered Borealis mud volcano. It was the most beautiful spectacle our eyes have ever witnessed. Beside the scientific program, the Arctic Ocean showed its wonderful landscape, offering us a lot of beautiful oceanic wildlife, including dolphins and whales.
