Akma 3 - Logbook - Day 8 - Our student on board

Fereshteh is an Iranian student of Marine Sciences at Milano-Bicocca University, Italy. She works on cold seeps and seafloor mapping using the data captured by ROV. During our expedition, most of the time she was wearing this hoodie with the slogan "Woman, Life, Freedom". Today she was presenting the work that she has done so far to a group of students in Iran, but she couldn't finish due to the weak internet connection caused by the regime. "I hope freedom and equality for all the Iranian girls and women who are fighting for their rights in my country, I want their voice to be heard ", she said. Female scientists and researchers have been always playing key roles in AKMA expeditions. We hope for a peaceful life for all the people around the world.
