AKMA 3 – Logbook Day 5 – 3 May

This morning, we reach our thirt study area: Vestbakken Slope. The weather conditions were still unstable and we had some navigation issues with the ROV. Nevertheless, our ROV engineers have been very good to find the way to explore the seabottom. The ROV cameras showed to us large patches of the seabed covered by bacterial mat and tube warms and we had the chance to collect fantastic box corers. Our scientists and students are still working hard in the laboratories to complete all the sediment analysis!
