AKMA3 - Logbook Day 3 – 1 May

This morning, we reach our second study area: Håkjerringdjupet. The ROV was ready for a new dive in the Barent Sea. This time, we decide to use a multifunctional ROV basket because we needed to take samples for different purposes. We did several mesurements of methane concentration and use different push and box corers to take undisturbed sediment samples. This gives us the opportunity to study the sea floor of this areas with great scientific interest. Our researcher and students have been working really hard in the laboratory. They took samples of sediment from the ocean floor and extract all the water to analyse. Well done young scientists! We are so lucky to have you on board!
