Sammendrag
Funders increasingly require research data to be FAIR: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. The motivation behind this policy is to enhance the return on investment of public funds, by ensuring that research findings are reproducible and can be reliably built upon in future work. FAIR requirements impose extra work on researchers, but can potentially speed up and improve manuscript preparation. Here we describe a workflow where FAIR data management throughout the lifetime of the research supports reproducible science, reduces duplication of writing, and facilitates data reuse and transdisciplinary collaboration. This will vastly reduce the time spent dwelling on ideas and project structure, as well as composing the manuscript itself.
