Automatic and Unattended Monitoring of Pollutants in Aquatic Systems. This focused on Heavy Metals in Lakes and Rivers

Sammendrag

Normally meteorological data are all collected automatically without the need for physical presence. However, most chemical pollution data are found by collecting samples manually, to be brought to laboratories with special equipment for analyses. The advantages also remotely to monitor chemical pollution are obvious. The following can unattended be measured in waters: Temperature pH-value COD, TOC and other major components Conductivity Turbidity and colour Flow rate and water level Some bacteria etc. Different available methods will be discussed. We see that the monitoring of heavy metals is missing in the above given list, due to the fact that no acceptable methods have been available. However, methods for such monitoring have been developed by the present authors, and this will be presented and discussed. Here focused on heavy metals in lakes and rivers and leakag-es from mines to the rivers and lakes.
