Digital cash based assistance: Qualitative modelling using system dynamics

Digital CBA refers to the use of digital technologies to deliver cash in humanitarian contexts. This study focuses on the selection of cash delivery mechanism in refugee crises and explores the feasibility requirements for using different technologies in CBA. The study uses system dynamics methodology to map the feasibility requirements for digital CBA. The developed CLD is informed by a systematic review of the literature and validated through interviews with CBA experts active in Uganda. The study contributes by enhancing the intuition and understanding for the delivery mechanism selection in refugee crises to facilitate the decision making by humanitarian actors.
