Tittel

Norwegian compound deverbal nouns: an autolexical analysis in morphology, syntax, and semantics

Sammendrag

The thesis offers an analysis of Norwegian compund deverbal nouns within the framework of Autolexical Grammar. The analysis includes mutually independent analyses of these constructions from a morphological, semantic, and syntactic view, respectively. Each of these three modular analyses are then integrated through an interface component. Through this interface component, it is demonstrated how the independent module analyses in most cases match each other. However, there are some interesting cases of mismatches between the modules, as well as between module-internal modulettes. Exactly these mismatches provide arguments for a modular view on grammar.
