Tittel
A convergence study of two prognostic, sigma coordinate ocean models on a density driven flow in a quadratic basin
Sammendrag
A three-dimensional, baroclinic and rotational benchmark for hydrosta tic coastal ocean models is suggested. The computational domain is a quadratic 200km by 200km horisontally and 200m deep. The lateral boun daries are closed. Solutions to the problems are estimated with two d ifferent sigma coordinate models, both for the diagnostic and the pro gnostic case. Grid and time converged results are presented. For the transports, convergence within two significant digits is reported.
