A study of two new splitting methods for the gravity part of the shallow water equations

In this report two new splitting methods for the gravity part of the shallow water equations are studied. The aim of the methods is to bet ter cope with irregular boundaries than traditional dimensional split ting methods. The proposed methods are implemented and tested in a mo del problem with a closed channel geometry first described in a work by T.J. Weare.
