Sammendrag
Botanical diversity and present condition of eight cultural landscape localities in the Trondheim Bymark is described, and management actions for the localities are proposed. The localities are Munkaunet, Lavollen, Tunga, Lian–Solem, Stykket, Lagmannssetra, Marka and Grønlia. Vascular plants have been recorded at all localities, and phytosociolo-gical analyses in permanent plots were carried out at Lavollen, Tunga and Lian–Solem. In order to document the succession during the last 50 years, maps of areas covered by forest are drawn for most localities based on aerial photographs from 1947, 1962, 1963, 1978 and 1993. Botanical diversity is highest at Lian–Solem, where the red listed orchid Leucorchis albida ssp. albida (demanding care) occurs. A large population of Platanthera chlorantha is of particular interest because the Trondheim area is close to the northern limit of the species. Diversity is high at Lavollen as well, while it is lower at the other localities. Grønlia and Lagmannssetra are overgrown, Stykket is mostly open meadow, and the situation varies between the different parts of the other localities. Aerial photographs show that succession from open meadow to woodland accelerated between 1963 and 1978, and this trend has continued until today. Lian–Solem, Lavollen and Tunga are given first priority with regard to management, while Munkaunet, Stykket and Marka are given second priority. No management action is suggested for Grønlia or Lagmannssetra.
