Direct electrochemical response of bovine cytochrome c. 1 - Purification and purity effect on the electrochemical reaction

The direct electrochemical response of bovine heart cytochrome c was investigated oil modified gold electrodes to establish the effect of the non-native cytochrome c impurities on the voltammetric signal involving the haemic centre. Following the experimental results, it appears that the purification of the protein is essential to achieve the direct electrochemistry of the metalloprotein. No remarkable differences between horse and bovine electrochemical activity were noticed using gold electrode modified with 4,4'-dipyridyl disulfide.
