Sammendrag
Conflicts between scientists and journalists in a situation of catastrophe: Even thought scientific data about the relationship between science and the media is scant, results thus far indicate that conflicts easily develop between reserachers and journalists in a crisis situation. Primarily, the tension is based on two main components, the question of professionalistm and the production of knowledge. Since the mid-1980s the critical approach has challenged the traditional popularising paradigm, based on the idea that the media should mediate the "facts" and "the truth"; scientific facts are perceived as constructions created and interpreted in new contexts.
